Nightingale Trail - Stop 11 Beauty Berry

Beauty berry “Callicarpa americana” This opposite leaved shrub found hanging above the marker has delicate pink flowers in early summer which attract butterflies and birds. In late summer, lavender-colored berries hug the branches. The fully ripe berries can be made into jelly and dessert glazes.

Stomach aches were treated with a tea made from the leaves and roots.
