What we collect

If you submit your email through the launch-notification form on the homepage, we store the email address you provide plus the submission timestamp and approximate IP address (collected automatically by Netlify Forms for spam-prevention).

If you submit our contact form, we additionally store the name, topic, and message body you supply.

This site uses cookies. We use Google Analytics 4 for aggregate page-view data; it sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*) that recognize returning browsers and group page views into visits, it does not set persistent cross-site identifiers, and you can opt out via standard browser controls. Google AdSense code also loads on our pages, and Google may set or read cookies and similar technologies through it; if ads are shown, Google may use them to serve and measure ads, including ads personalized to your visits to this and other websites.

Our own analytics

As well as Google Analytics, this site uses a small analytics script that we run ourselves. Each time you load a page or interact with it, the script sends a short record to our hosting provider, Netlify, where it is stored. A record contains: the time; the page address without anything after a "?"; the page's type and, where the address names one, the listing, article or tool it shows; the website that sent you here (its address up to the domain, nothing more); your device type (mobile, tablet or desktop) and browser family; and, if the link you followed had them, its utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign campaign tags, which are kept for the rest of your visit. It also records when you click a phone, email or external link (for external links, the destination website's domain; never the phone number or email address), when you submit a form (the form's name or ID, never what you typed), labelled results that a tool on the page reports, whether you scrolled past 50% and 90% of a page, and whether the page was visible for 30 seconds.

Netlify tells us which country your connection comes from; we do not store your IP address. Your browser's user-agent is used to work out its browser family and to flag automated traffic such as search-engine crawlers; the user-agent itself is not stored. To group page views into visits, the script keeps a random visitor ID in this site's local storage that is replaced each day (UTC), and a random session ID in session storage that is replaced after 30 minutes of inactivity or when you close the tab. If your browser blocks storage, a temporary ID is used for that page only. The script sets no cookies, is not used for advertising and does not link your visits to other websites. The data is processed and stored by Netlify on our behalf and is not sold. We delete these records 14 months after they are made; after that we keep only daily totals, such as how many times a page was viewed, which cannot be linked to a visit or a visitor ID. You can remove the stored IDs at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

How we use your data

Email signups. We send occasional category-launch and city-launch notifications. We do not share or sell email addresses. You can unsubscribe at any time at /contact.

Contact-form submissions. We use them to reply to your enquiry. We may keep the message thread for our records.

Aggregate analytics. Pageview counts, referrers, and rough geographic regions help us understand which places people are looking for and where to expand coverage.

Where data is stored

Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify (USA), our hosting provider, under their privacy policy. Aggregate analytics are stored by Google (Google Analytics 4). Records from our own analytics script are stored by Netlify, as described under "Our own analytics" above.

Your rights

You can request a copy of any data we hold about you, or request deletion, at any time. Email /contact with topic "Privacy / data deletion request" and we'll process it within 30 days.

If you're a California resident, the same applies under CCPA/CPRA — including the right to know, delete, and opt out of any "sale" or "share" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Google AdSense code already loads on this site (see "What we collect" above), and when Google uses it for personalized advertising, that can count as a "share" under CPRA. You can turn off personalized ads from Google at Google Ads Settings.

Children

RoamFound is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a minor has submitted information through the site, contact us and we will delete it.

Updates

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. For routine updates we reserve the right to revise without notice; for material changes (new tracking, new sharing, new revenue model) we'll add a notice.
